Senior Pastor - Matt Gholson, B.A., Th.B., Th.M.
Matt is a native of the Henderson area, and except for a three and a half year period at college, he has lived in
this area all of his life. Matt attended Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in the Oak Flat community where his
father and mother served faithfully. He also grew up next to Pine Springs Baptist Camp, so he could "visit"
camp anytime! After graduating Henderson High School in May, 1993, Matt attended Texas A&M and
graduated in December 1996. It was during February 1996 that he met his future wife, Jennifer, at a
singles/college retreat at Timberline Baptist Camp in Lindale. After graduating from Texas A&M, Matt and
Jennifer were married and he began his new position at Peoples State Bank in Henderson, Texas. They also
joined with Arp First Baptist Church where they oversaw the youth program. While working at his job and
church, Matt also began attending Stephen F. Austin State University to obtain his Masters of Business
Administration agree.
After a couple years of marriage, Matt and Jennifer became the proud parents of Savannah and had everything
a young couple could desire. However, as Matt approached the completion of his Masters degree, he felt God
calling him to the ministry, and in the summer of 2000, he surrendered to the ministry at Arp First Baptist
Church. Shortly thereafter, he moved his family to the campus of Texas Baptist Institute & Seminary where
Matt and Jennifer's second child, Levi, was born. In August of 2001, Arp First Baptist Church hired him as
Associate Pastor over Student Ministries, and the Missionary Baptist Student Fellowship Director at the
University of Texas - Tyler and Tyler Junior College campuses. As Matt finished his course of studies as
Texas Baptist Institute & Seminary, he was invited to serve as a faculty member. Currently, in his sixth year as
a faculty member of Texas Baptist Institute & Seminary, he teaches Logic and Argumentation, Greek 101,
Bible Geography, and Bible Related History. In May 2009, he received his Masters of Theology degree and is
currently pursuing his Doctorate of Theology.)
Matt has served Ebenezer as Senior Pastor for over five years and has seen the church grow from
approximately 12 in Sunday morning attendance to an average of 120. He also plays bass guitar during
Worship Services.
Matt is also a huge supporter of the schools he attended (Texas A&M University, Stephen F. Austin State
University, and Texas Baptist Institute-Seminary), and loves to hunt, watch football, play computer games,
read, enjoy time with his family, and share God's blessings with others..

Minister Of Youth - Kyle Clinton
Kyle was born in Greenville, Texas on May 2, 1986. Kyle has been blessed by the Lord to have Christ
introduced to him as soon as he was alive. Kyle's father, Kevin Clinton, was called to the ministry just before
Kyle was born. Consequently, Kyle spent the first four years of his life on the campus of Texas Baptist
Institute & Seminary while his father studied to become a better minister. After his father's graduation, the
family moved to Sherman, Texas in order for his father to pastor Victory Missionary Baptist Church. It was
during this stay at Victory MBC that Kyle accepted the Lord as his Savior. Kyle and his family stayed in
Sherman for approximately seven years when God called his father to Bogota, Texas. After a short stay in
Bogota, Kyle and his family moved to Denison, Texas where his father began pastoring at Woodlawn
Missionary Baptist Church.
During his stay in Denison, Kyle played football in middle school as well as trumpet in the band. Kyle started
his high school career in Denison, however, he finished at McKinney High School in 2004 because his father
had moved the family to McKinney, Texas to start a new church. Directly after graduating high school, Kyle
attended Colin County Community College for one year where he studied to be a Radiologist Technician. The
next year, he attended Grayson County College continuing with the same studies. During his studies at
Grayson, Kyle met his future wife Lauren, and they dated for approximately two years. They were married on
July 14, 2007.
The summer following Kyle's attendance at Grayson, he felt the Lord calling him to the ministry. Kyle
answered the call on July 2, 2006, and since then, has moved to Henderson, Texas where he is currently
attending Texas Baptist Institute & Seminary. Since February 3, 2008, Kyle has served as the
Minister of Youth at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
